Garrett Goodness

Garrett is fully embracing his 3 year oldness. He can be very astute and clear spoken one minute only to fall to complete pieces and begin slobbering and speaking gibberish the next. He is also in a hard phase where he doesn't really need a nap, but can't necessarily get through the day with out one either. Ian fell asleep at the dinner table for about 8 months during this time. Garrett usually gives up while watching a video in his favorite chair. The tv is to the right and up.

He potty trained like a champ and is still going strong. He loves animals (primarily tigers) and will create elaborate jungle scenes in the playroom with all his figurines and trains. He loves to sit and 'read' and told me the other day after watching Muzzy that Nora doesn't have to watch it because she already speaks Spanish. He eats like a teenager so I can only imagine what that will be like in 10 years and he recently moved into a kinder gymnastics class which is going really well. We have to separate him from everyone else in the car because he kicks and pokes and is generally disagreeable so he gets the back row all to himself.

Garrett has a great imagination and can pretend with the best. Unfortunately that also plays into his dreams. He is frequently visited by an "orange 'nake" that lives under his bed and wakes him up. That dream has been going for almost a year now and I won't be the least surprised if we find one some day. He loves his friends and recognizes kids from school all over town - some we don't really even know and haven't seen in months. He knows all his letters, numbers, and colors and loves to play rhyming games with us. He will just as quickly tell you how to spell his name as tell you that mammals don't lay eggs. What a fun kid!
