I am catching up slowly but surely.
We are a busy family and I am finding time at the computer doesn't come as easily as it once did.
I am committed to keeping this blog going, though the "today" part might suffer.

Duh
During our family bible study today, I asked the kids what happened when Nadab was killed by King Baasha?
My intended answer was that God's word spoken through Ahija the prophet had come true concerning the family of Jeroboam - everyone would be killed.
Before either of the boys could answer,
Nora, who was under the table (that's another post), says in her 'of course' voice,
"He was dead."

Career Day

Garrett's class had a career day and with all the choices out there he chose.....
Train Engineer.
He was great and described the best part of his job as "driving a train up to Alaska and getting to see lots of animals" and the worst part was "getting hot from the big fire."
I waited to nearly the last minute to organize the outfit since I figured it would change and thanks to Gibson's hardware store I had my choice of children's pinstriped overalls. He looked really cute and I know he had a great day!

Bizarre Foods at Broken Arrow
The food wasn't all that 'bizarre' to us, but there were some interesting preparations and of course some raw offerings that aren't on an everyday table.
Everyone had a really nice time and we had beautiful weather for the whole day. The kids came to watch and while moments went well, I am pretty sure that we are not a tv family.

Halloween
We went for the family themed costumes this year with great results, two sewing machines and one on sale, green, Old Navy sundress later.
Ian had requested a knight costume (he did a pretty good 'Prince Charming' if you ask me), Nora requested a princess and Garrett was all over the board.
We worked Garrett into a Dragon and Chris and I filled in as the King and Queen.
We had events at various venues - Ian's school, trick-or-treating with friends and hanging out at the Hunt School Fall Festival.
Starkey has a Pumpkin Parade where all the students can decorate a pumpkin and then as they parade around school in their costumes they get to walk by and see all of them.
Ian's is the mummy pumpkin on the top left.
