Well, the Elk trip was off this fall due to none of the guys getting a tag in the Colorado state elk lottery so an alternate boys' trip had to be arranged. Chris took the initiative and organized a 3 day fishing extravaganza out at the Daybreak, the Oceaneering fishing camp in southern Louisiana.
The guys all flew over to New Orleans where they were picked up by float planes and flown all the way down to the camp.
Then they spent three days fishing out in the gulf, enjoying the comfort of the Daybreak and the hospitality and cooking of the staff.
Mike, David and Andrew went along as well as Mike's good friend John.
While I will definitely miss the elk this three day trip was a lot easier on the wives. We will just be eating red fish instead.
