An update on our gruesome backyard mystery.... After wrestling with the game camera for a few days and finally deciding it just needed new batteries, we caught this picture.
Probably our culprits though they didn't leave any incriminating evidence. I haven't ever seen these dogs in the neighborhood and running around together at night with one missing a tag isn't working in their favor. I am still wondering what the other tail picture was - ok, probably just a raccoon, but wouldn't an ocelot or some jaguar roaming up from Mexico be cool?

I'm gonna go with ringtailed cat for the first tail photo because it's cooler than a coon. And more likely than your suggestions/hopes. ;-)
The dogs, well, I'm gonna vote that they were staring at whatever the real culprit was/is in awe.
