We didn't think we would have much chance to seeing the eclipse from our backyard so we loaded up the kids and the eclipse viewer Ian made and headed up to the I10 rest stop on the ridge for a first rate view; though the ambiance and aroma left plenty to be desired.
We spent the waiting time climbing in and out of the truck and banging on anything metal with big sticks.
We are a very musical family.
Finally the big moment and Ian's viewer worked perfectly!
Fun to remember the last eclipse like this was during our senior year of high school. I remember everyone outside watching on little pieces of paper. The next one is schedule for Garrett's senior year I think.
Amazing when you think of things in terms of astronomical time.
