Chris and Garrett headed off to the Austin Zoo as an End of Kindergarten congratulations celebration! Garrett was excited to spend a whole day with Daddy and get to go to a new zoo!
The Austin Zoo is a rescue zoo so all the animals there have been rescued or accepted from circuses, lab research centers, and people who may have made bad choices for pets.
Garrett was thrilled to see three tigers, lions, bears, tortoises, wolves, lots of monkey and lemurs and some neat parrots.
The petting zoo was a treat and I love this copy from the zoo map:
"Smaller children may not appreciate the petting corral animals' enthusiasm."
They rode the train of course and he picked out a new cockatoo buddy to bring home named "Coco."
